Director of Construction Management

We are looking for an experienced construction management professional to assist in the growth and profit objectives of our company.  The ideal candidate must have good verbal and written skills, be experienced with the tools of the trade in marketing, which includes PR, creating and developing effective marketing plans and strategies; understands the industry and the various competitive and marketplace factors involved; able to be a team player – collaborating and sharing of ideas with the team; ability to think out of the box; be innovative and gregarious; work independently to prepare business proposals and contracts; resolve various issues related to construction management, and more importantly, have school and public work experiences such as dealing with LAUSD, LACCD, and MTA.

Preferred Licenses and Certificates:

  • A valid Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer or licensed Architect in the State of California or
  • A Valid Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI)

Field Safety Representative

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience working on modernization-type projects involving asbestos and lead-based paint disturbance
  • Familiar with large building programs across multiple sites
  • Additional safety / health certification and credentials.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Over 15 years construction/safety experience in the type of work being performed.
  • Evidence of completing OSAH 30 Hour Construction Outreach Training within the last three years.  In the alternative, evidence of completing the OSAH 500 or OSHA 502 class may be provided.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Training from a provider recognized by OSHA.
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certificate issued by the American Society of Safety Engineers.
  • Sufficient working knowledge in Microsoft Office to generate written or spreadsheet type reports.

Owners Authorized Representative

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college or university in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.

Preferred Licenses and Certificates:

  • A valid Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer or licensed Architect in the State of California or
  • A Valid Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI)

Required Experience:

  • 10 years of experience in Project/Construction Management of Commercial and/or Public/Education Facility Construction with full responsibility for coordinating complex projects with construction values in excess of $15M.

Additional Preferred Experience:

  • Experience managing large scale IT Infrastructure installation projects.
  • Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM)
  • Experience with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects and/or the Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS)
  • Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes.

Senior Project Manager

Required Education:

  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a BA or BS in Engineering, Planning, Facilities Management or Construction Management.
  • Additional courses in Business Administration, Public Relations, Accounting, School Finance, Personnel Management and Communication are preferable.

Preferred Licenses and Certificates:

  • A valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California Architectural Board or Professional Engineer by the California State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors
  • A valid Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI)

Required Experience:

  • 15 years project/construction management experience
  • 5 years of the above experience in managing large programs with projects in construction values excess of $100 million

Additional Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in managing installation of large scale IT Infrastructure project delivery.
  • 5 years of experience in educational facility construction or public works projects
  • Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM)
  • Experience in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects and/or the Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS)
  • 2010 Experience in Formal Construction Partnering
  • Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes
