PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

New Library / LRC facility of 89,000 SF, with reinforced concrete spread footings and grade beams, steel columns and bracing, reinforced concrete slab on grade and structural steel framing. Includes four exterior concrete filled metal pan stairs and one 2-stop hydraulic elevator. Full M/E/P/Fire Protection. LEED Project.

Monarch Parking Structure

Student Services Center

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

This project provides 41,200 gross square foot (GSF) of New Student Services Center Building for the LAVC, which will provide space for Financial Aid, Counseling, Admissions and Records, Assessment Center, Career Transfer Center, Business Office, EOPS, DSPS, Personal Development Classrooms, Matric, Student Outreach, ASU, VPSS, Student Assist Center and Placement Center.

Fulton Avenue Entryway & Monarch Square

LOCATION:            Los Angeles Valley College

CLIENT:                 Los Angeles Community College District

COST:                    $870,160.

STATUS:               Completed in 2009

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

College Project Managers for this newly renovated Fulton Avenue entrance and Monarch Square.  Work included updating to create new walkways and roadways for students to access the campus and its facilities.

New lighting, asphalt concrete paving, walkways, handicap accessible ramps and stairs, a new bus shelter and bus/car drop off area was provided to the Fulton Street entrance.  Improvements to the pedestrian lighting and new directional signage were also provided to this entrance.

New walkways, lighting, directional signage, and landscaping to include drought-resistant plants and a drip irrigation system, which is a water-saving method that minimizes water usage by allowing water to drip slowly into the soil were provided to the Monarch Square.

Child Development & Family Complex

LOCATION:            Los Angeles Valley College

STATUS:                Completed in 2011

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

College Project Managers for the Child Development & Family Complex, the new home of the Child Development Center, the Child Development department and the Family Resource Center.

The complex includes three separate structures, housing the Child Development Center (CDC), adjacent to the CDC is the Child Development Department building and the third structure is the Family Resource Center.

The Child Development Center building includes four smart classrooms, faculty office spaces, a department reception area and a conference room.

The Family Resource Center is a 2,000 square-foot, one-story, wood framed building which features a large multi-purpose space with smaller support areas.

Allied Health & Sciences Center

 

LOCATION:            Los Angeles Valley College

CLIENT:                 Los Angeles Community College District

COST:                    $46 Million

STATUS:               Completed in 2008

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Yang Management, Inc. provided Third Party Oversight consulting services of the College Project Managers for this new 98,000 Square-foot, state-of-the art building which houses the Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Anthropology and Health Sciences departments.  The center is a 3-story building and boasts 131 new rooms, tutorial labs and faculty offices.

The Center is a LEED-certified (Leadership in energy and Environ

mental Design) building which incorporates energy savings and sustainable components.  It features energy efficient heating and cooling systems and lighting, rooftop photovoltaic panels for generating electricity, and a storm water retention system in the landscaping.
